This is the scholarly article on which the most recent estimates of people with hearing loss in the UK was based. Taking data from the 2021 UK Census and the National Study of Hearing, the researchers were able to accurately estimate that there were around 18 million people in the UK with hearing loss, not 12 million as previously reported.
