Hearing Loss Champions at The Oaks, Sidcup.

On Wednesday 9th April, five team leaders at The Oaks in Sidcup, qualified as Hearing Loss Champions. Trained by the experts at Engage, they learned about creating and installing protocols, adding new pre-assessment questions and how to add them to the care plan. These plans are then fully compliant with the Accessible Information Standard and can be used as evidence for CQC inspections. Another part of the course covered fault finding of hearing aids and retubing.

One of the team leaders said, "It was intense but so interesting. Next time there's an issue with a hearing aid, rather than wait two weeks for it to be fixed by the audiology clinic, if its simple, I can fix it myself! My resident can be part of life in the home rather than sitting alone, not being able to hear."

If you would like training and support for your staff, do get in touch with Engage today. hello@engagecare.co.uk or 020 8369 8329.
